You will appreciate that for some months we have been reviewing the options available to our schools to secure their future and continue to raise standards. On Tuesday, having reviewed all the options, the Governors decided to pursue a partnership with Minehead Middle School. The aim of the change is to enable us to maintain a middle school here in Dulverton and work with colleagues in Minehead to share staff, leadership and develop outstanding provision across West Somerset. To secure our future, the four schools (All Saints C of E First School, Dulverton Middle School, Exford C of E First School and Minehead Middle School) will join together as a multi-academy trust. The aim is to make the changes for September 2015. This does mean that there will be no changes to the age range of our schools. Each school will have its own Leader and all efforts will be made to continue to raise standards. This does not mean that there will be changes to uniform, the local identity of each school or the location in which children are educated. Together we will educate well over 800 children, have 50 teachers and more than 100 staff and a combined annual income of £3.25 million. Together we will be big enough to sustain great education into the foreseeable future. We are excited by this development and want to share our ideas with you and hear what you think about them. We are holding a meeting in Dulverton Middle School on Tuesday 10th February at 7:30pm for this purpose. If you can't attend this meeting please do e-mail your thoughts to us at Dulvertonconsultation@educ.somerset.gov.uk or write to us at Dulverton Middle School, Barns Close West TA22 9EE by the 10th March. We will keep you informed of progress over the coming weeks.
