In the event of serious weather conditions such as heavy snow and ice, it may be necessary to close the school for the safety of pupils and staff.
If it has snowed overnight and a decision is taken in the morning to close the school we will notify the local radio stations and BBC Somerset. The information will be found on www.bbc.co.uk/somerset or from listening to the following radio stations:
BBC Somerset 1566Mhz
Heart FM 96.5FM or 102.6FM
The school telephones will be programmed with a message letting parents know we are closed, and this website will also display a message.
If the transport is not running we may still open for children who live locally if enough teachers can get into school.
Bad weather during the day:
If the weather deteriorates during the day, school may close early. In this case the school will contact parents to either pick up children or to ensure that there is someone at home to meet children who travel on school transport.
Please ensure the school office has up-to-date contact numbers for you.
